4. Bedienungsanleitung

The ADTEMP II thermometer can be used for oral, rectal, or axillary (underarm) temperature measurements. Always ensure the probe is clean before use.

4.1 Oral Measurement (Recommended for Adults and Older Children)

  1. Place the probe tip under the tongue as close to the heat pocket as possible.
  2. Close your mouth and hold the thermometer in place with your lips and fingers. Avoid biting the thermometer.
  3. Hold the thermometer until a series of beeps indicates the measurement is complete (approximately 60 seconds).
  4. Lesen Sie die angezeigte Temperatur ab.

4.2 Rectal Measurement (Recommended for Infants and Young Children)

  1. Apply a water-soluble lubricant to the probe tip.
  2. Gently insert the probe tip no more than 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) into the rectum. Do not force the thermometer.
  3. Hold the thermometer in place until a series of beeps indicates the measurement is complete (approximately 60 seconds).
  4. Lesen Sie die angezeigte Temperatur ab.

4.3 Axillary (Underarm) Measurement (Less Accurate, Use as a Screening Method)

  1. Platzieren Sie die Sondenspitze in der Mitte der Achselhöhle.
  2. Achten Sie darauf, dass der Arm fest gegen den Körper gedrückt wird, um das Thermometer an Ort und Stelle zu halten.
  3. Hold the thermometer until a series of beeps indicates the measurement is complete (approximately 5-10 minutes). Note: Axillary measurements take longer and are generally less accurate than oral or rectal methods.
  4. Lesen Sie die angezeigte Temperatur ab.

4.4 Nach der Messung

  • Turn off the thermometer by pressing the power button, or it will automatically shut off after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery.
  • Clean the thermometer as per the "Maintenance and Cleaning" section.
  • Bewahren Sie das Thermometer in seiner Schutzhülle auf.

5. Wartung und Reinigung

5.1 Reinigung des Thermometers

It is crucial to clean and disinfect the thermometer before and after each use to prevent cross-contamination.

  1. Wipe the probe tip and shaft with a soft cloth dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol or a mild soap and water solution.
  2. Rinse the probe tip with cool water (do not immerse the entire thermometer).
  3. Mit einem sauberen, weichen Tuch gründlich trocknen.
  4. Do not use harsh detergents, abrasive cleaners, or immerse the entire thermometer in water or cleaning solutions.

5.2 Batteriewechsel

The ADTEMP II thermometer uses a button cell battery. When the battery symbol appears on the display, it's time to replace the battery.

  2. Carefully remove the cover (a small screwdriver may be needed).
  3. Remove the old battery and insert a new one of the same type (e.g., LR41 or SR41), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Bringen Sie den Batteriefachdeckel wieder fest an.
  5. Entsorgen Sie alte Batterien entsprechend den örtlichen Vorschriften.
