1. Einleitung

This manual provides instructions for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of your Nespresso Pixie XN 3005 coffee machine. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and keep this manual for future reference.

The Nespresso Pixie coffee machine by KRUPS features an industrial design with hammered metal sides. It offers a 19-bar high-pressure pump and a rapid heating system, allowing for quick extraction of coffee aromas. With two simple buttons, it prepares both espressos and lungos. Its polished steel handle ensures durability.

Important: This appliance is designed for Nespresso coffee capsules available exclusively via the Nespresso Club or an authorized Nespresso retailer. Nespresso quality is only guaranteed when Nespresso capsules are used in Nespresso machines.

2. Einrichtung und erste Verwendung

1. Auspacken: Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Ensure all components are present.
2. Positionierung: Stellen Sie das Gerät auf eine stabile, ebene und hitzebeständige Oberfläche, fern von Wasserspritzern und Wärmequellen.
3. Befüllen des Wassertanks:

   The removable water reservoir has a capacity of 0.7 liters. Lift the water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh drinking water up to the MAX level. Reinsert the tank securely. The water level is visible.
4. Stromanschluss: Stecken Sie das Netzkabel in eine geerdete Steckdose.
5. Erster Spülgang:
   • Stellen Sie einen Behälter (mindestens 0.5 l) unter den Kaffeeauslauf.
   • Press either the Espresso or Lungo button. The machine will start heating up (buttons will flash).
   • Once heated (buttons stop flashing), press the Lungo button to run water through the system without a capsule. Repeat this process two to three times to clean the internal components.

3. Bedienungsanleitung

3.1 Kaffee zubereiten

1. Einschalten: Press either the Espresso or Lungo button. The machine will heat up in approximately 25 seconds. The backlit buttons will flash during heating and remain steady when ready.
2. Kapsel einlegen:

   Lift the lever completely. Insert a Nespresso capsule into the designated slot. Close the lever firmly.

3. Platzpokal: Place a cup under the coffee outlet. The drip tray is removable and adjustable for different cup sizes.
4. Select Coffee Size:

   Drücken Sie die Espresso-Taste for a small cup (approx. 40ml) or the Lungo-Taste for a large cup (approx. 110ml). The machine will automatically stop when the programmed volume is reached.

5. Capsule Ejection: After brewing, lift the lever to automatically eject the used capsule into the container. The container can hold 9 to 11 used capsules.

3.2 Programmierung der Kaffeemenge

The machine features an automatic function to memorize your preferred coffee quantity for both small and large cups.

1. Insert a Nespresso capsule.
2. Place your cup under the coffee outlet.
3. Press and hold the desired button (Espresso or Lungo). Release the button when your cup contains the desired volume of coffee. The machine will now remember this volume for future brews with that button.

3.3 Eco Mode and Auto-Off

The machine is equipped with an Eco mode and an auto-off function to save energy. It will automatically switch off after 9 minutes of inactivity.

4. Wartung

4.1 Tägliche Reinigung

• Empty and rinse the drip tray and the used capsule container daily. These parts are removable and can be easily washed under the tap.

4.2 Entkalkung

To ensure coffee quality and prolong the life of your machine, regular descaling is essential. In soft water areas, descale at least once a year; in hard water areas, twice a year. Use the Nespresso descaling kit.

To initiate the descaling process, simultaneously press both the Espresso and Lungo buttons. Follow the specific instructions provided with your Nespresso descaling kit.

5. Fehlerbehebung

• Maschine lässt sich nicht einschalten:

  Prüfen Sie, ob das Netzkabel fest in einer funktionierenden Steckdose eingesteckt ist.

• Kein oder nur langsamer Kaffeefluss:
  • Ensure the water tank is filled and correctly positioned.
  • Check if a capsule is properly inserted and the lever is fully closed.
  • Perform a descaling cycle if the machine has not been descaled recently.
• Wasserleck:
  • Ensure the water tank is correctly seated.
  • Check the drip tray for overflow.
  • If using non-Nespresso capsules, some leakage might occur into the capsule container.
• Coffee is not hot enough:
  • Pre-heat your cup by running hot water through the machine without a capsule.
  • Ensure the machine has fully heated up before brewing (buttons are steady, not flashing).
