The ASUS RT-N12 D1 supports three operating modes:

  • Router-Modus (Standard): In this mode, the device acts as a traditional wireless router, connecting to your modem and providing internet access to all connected wired and wireless devices. It manages IP addresses and network traffic.
  • Access Point (AP)-Modus: This mode converts your router into a wireless access point. It connects to an existing wired network and broadcasts a Wi-Fi signal, extending wireless coverage without acting as a router itself.
  • Range Extender-Modus: In this mode, the device wirelessly connects to an existing Wi-Fi network and re-broadcasts the signal, extending the wireless coverage area to eliminate dead zones.

Sie können über die Router-Einstellungen zwischen diesen Modi umschalten. web administration interface under the 'Operation Mode' settings.
