Setup und Installation

Follow these steps to replace your pool filter cartridge:

  1. Pumpe ausschalten: Ensure the pool pump is completely off and the circuit breaker is switched off to prevent accidental startup.
  2. Druckentlastung: Open the air relief valve on top of your filter tank to release any trapped air and pressure.
  3. Drain the filter: Open the drain plug at the bottom of the filter tank to allow water to drain out.
  4. Open the filter housing: Entfernen Sie dieamp or lid that secures the top of the filter tank. Carefully lift the top section of the filter housing.
  5. Remove old cartridge: Carefully lift out the old filter cartridge. Dispose of it according to local regulations.
  6. Gehäuse reinigen: Inspect the inside of the filter tank for debris and clean as necessary. Check the O-ring for cracks or wear; replace if damaged. Lubricate the O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant.
  7. Install new cartridge: Place the new Pureline PL0100 filter cartridge into the filter tank, ensuring it sits properly on the bottom manifold.
  8. Reassemble filter: Replace the top section of the filter housing and secure the clamp or lid. Close the drain plug.
  9. Die Pumpe entlüften: With the air relief valve still open, turn on the pool pump. Once a steady stream of water emerges from the air relief valve, close it.
  10. Auf Undichtigkeiten prüfen: Monitor the system for any leaks around the filter housing.

Operating the Filter System

Once installed, the Pureline PL0100 cartridge will begin filtering your pool water. Monitor your filter's pressure gauge regularly. A clean filter will typically show a lower pressure reading. As the filter collects debris, the pressure will gradually increase. An increase of 8-10 PSI above the clean operating pressure indicates that the cartridge needs cleaning or replacement.

Wartung

Regular maintenance is key to optimal filter performance and water clarity.

Reinigung der Kartusche

When the pressure gauge indicates a need for cleaning (8-10 PSI above clean pressure), follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the pump and relieve pressure as described in the installation section.
  2. Remove the cartridge from the filter housing.
  3. Use a garden hose with a spray nozzle to thoroughly rinse the pleats of the cartridge. Work from top to bottom, ensuring all debris is flushed out.
  4. For stubborn dirt, oils, or algae, use a specialized filter cleaning solution. Follow the cleaner's instructions for soaking and rinsing.
  5. Allow the cartridge to dry completely before reinstalling, if possible, to prevent mildew growth.
When to Replace the Cartridge

Even with regular cleaning, filter cartridges will eventually wear out and become less effective. Signs that it's time to replace your cartridge include:

  • Persistently high pressure readings even after cleaning.
  • Tears, rips, or damage to the filter pleats.
  • Dull or cloudy pool water despite proper chemical balance and pump operation.
  • Reduced water flow from return jets.

Typically, single cartridge pool filters should be replaced every 6-12 months, while filters with multiple cartridges may last up to 3 years, depending on usage and maintenance.
