1. Einleitung

The Walfront GRT8-M1 is a versatile multifunctional delay time relay designed for various industrial and home automation applications. It offers 10 distinct delay functions and a wide time delay setting range from 0.1 seconds to 10 days. This relay is suitable for controlling electrical appliances, lighting, heating systems, motors, pumps, and fans. Its compact design allows for easy DIN rail mounting.

5. Installation

5.1 DIN-Schienenmontage

The GRT8-M1 is designed for easy mounting on a standard 35mm DIN rail. Simply align the relay with the rail and press firmly until it clicks into place. To remove, pull the red tabs at the bottom of the unit and lift it off the rail.

5.2 Schaltplan

Connect the relay according to the appropriate wiring diagram for your desired function. Ensure all connections are secure and correctly terminated. The terminals are labeled A1, A2 for power input, and 15, 16, 18 for the output contact (15: Common, 16: Normally Closed, 18: Normally Open).

6. Bedienung

The GRT8-M1 features two rotary knobs for setting the time range and the percentage of that range, along with a function selection knob.

6.1 Zeiteinstellung

The time delay is set using two knobs:

  • Knopf 1 (oben): Selects the time gear (e.g., 1s, 10s, 1m, 10m, 1h, 10h, 1d, 10d). 'ON' for relay operation (15-18 closed), 'OFF' for relay open (15-16 closed).
  • Knopf 2 (unten): Fine adjustment of the delay time, from 10% to 100% of the selected time gear.

ExampTeil 1: To set a 5-second delay:

  1. Set Knob 1 to '10s'.
  2. Set Knob 2 to '50%'.
  3. Calculated delay time = 10s * 50% = 5s.

ExampTeil 2: To set an 8-minute delay:

  1. Set Knob 1 to '10m'.
  2. Set Knob 2 to '80%'.
  3. Calculated delay time = 10m * 80% = 8m.

6.2 Funktionsauswahl

The GRT8-M1 offers 10 functions, selected via a rotary switch. Each function has a specific timing diagram:

  • A: On Delay (Power On): Delay starts when input voltage U is applied. Contacts R transfer after delay t.
  • B: Interval (Power On): Delay starts when input voltage U is applied. Contacts R transfer immediately and return after delay t.
  • C: Repeat Cycle (Starting Off): Delay starts when input voltage U is applied. Contacts R transfer after delay t1, then return after t2. Cycle repeats until U is removed.
  • D: Repeat Cycle (Starting On): Delay starts when input voltage U is applied. Contacts R transfer immediately for t1, then return for t2. Cycle repeats until U is removed.
  • E: Off Delay (S Break): Eingangsvolumentage U must be applied continuously. When trigger switch S is closed, relay contacts R change state. When trigger switch S is opened, delay t begins. When delay t is complete, contacts R return to their shelf state.
  • F: Single Shot: Bei Anwendung von Input voltage U, das Relais ist bereit, das Auslösesignal S anzunehmen. Bei Anlegen des Auslösesignals S wechseln die Relaiskontakte R und die voreingestellte Zeit t beginnt. Während des Timeouts wird das Triggersignal S ignoriert. Das Relais wird durch Betätigen des Auslöseschalters S zurückgesetzt, wenn das Relais nicht erregt ist.
  • G: Single Shot Trailing Edge (Non-Retriggerable): Bei Anwendung von Input voltage U, the relay is ready to accept trigger signal S. Upon application of the trigger signal S, the relay contacts R transfer and the preset time t begins. If the trigger switch S is opened and closed prior to time out t (before preset time elapses). Continuous cycling of the trigger switch S at a rate faster than the preset time t will cause the relay contacts R to remain closed. 7. Wartung

The Walfront GRT8-M1 delay time relay requires minimal maintenance. Keep the unit clean and free from dust and moisture. Periodically check terminal connections for tightness to ensure reliable operation. Do not attempt to open or repair the unit yourself; refer to qualified personnel for any issues beyond basic troubleshooting.

8. Fehlerbehebung

  • Relay not powering on: Eingangslautstärke prüfentage (A1-A2) and ensure it is within the AC/DC 12V~240V range. Verify power connections.
  • Relais schaltet nicht: Confirm the selected function and time settings are correct. Check trigger signal (S) if applicable. Ensure the load is properly connected to terminals 15, 16, 18.
  • Falscher Zeitpunkt: Re-check Knob 1 (time gear) and Knob 2 (percentage) settings. Ensure the selected time range matches your requirement.
  • LED-Anzeigen funktionieren nicht: If the green power LED is off, check power supply. If the red relay status LED is off when it should be on, check load and wiring.

If issues persist, consult a qualified electrician or contact customer support.
