Aufstellen
1. Einlegen der Batterie
- Richten Sie den Akku an den Rillen auf der Rückseite des Radios aus.
- Schieben Sie den Akku nach oben, bis er hörbar einrastet.
- Zum Entnehmen drücken Sie die Entriegelungstaste (falls vorhanden) und schieben die Batterie nach unten.

2. Laden des Akkus
The RT668 is powered by a 1200 mAh Li-ion battery. Use the provided charging station to charge the battery or the radio directly.
- Schließen Sie die Ladestation an eine Steckdose an.
- Legen Sie das Radio mit eingesetztem Akku oder nur den Akku in den Ladeschacht.

Bedienungsanleitung
1. Ein-/Ausschalten und Lautstärkeregelung
Rotate the top-most knob clockwise to power on the radio. Continue rotating to increase the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume and power off.

2. Kanalauswahl
The RT668 features 16 channels. Rotate the channel adjustment knob (the second knob from the top) to select your desired channel. Ensure all radios in your group are on the same channel for communication.
3. Push-to-Talk (PTT)
To transmit, press and hold the large PTT button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the button to listen.
4. VOX-Funktion (Sprachgesteuerte Vermittlungsstelle)
The VOX function allows for hands-free operation. When activated, the radio will transmit automatically when it detects your voice, eliminating the need to press the PTT button.

5. CTCSS/DCS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System / Digital-Coded Squelch)
The RT668 supports CTCSS/DCS codes to filter out unwanted conversations on the same channel. When enabled, you will only hear transmissions from radios using the same CTCSS/DCS code. This ensures clear voice transmission and communication security.

6. Reichweitenüberlegungen
The actual communication range of two-way radios is influenced by several factors, including terrain, obstacles, radio power, antenna type, and atmospheric conditions. While manufacturers may claim extended ranges, these are often achieved under ideal line-of-sight conditions (e.g., from a mountaintop). In urban, suburban, or rural areas, the range will be significantly less due to buildings, trees, and other obstructions.

To maximize range:
- Increase Transmit Power: (In theory, doubling transmit power extends range by approximately 1.4 times the original distance).
- Improve Receiver Sensitivity: Adjust the squelch threshold and use a high-gain antenna to enhance reception.
- Operate from a Higher Position: Elevate your position to reduce obstructions.

Wartung
1. Allgemeine Pflege
The Retevis RT668 is designed with a technical PC case for durability and is water-resistant. However, proper care is essential for longevity.
- Avoid exposing the radio to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or harsh chemicals.

2. Batteriepflege

Fehlerbehebung
1. Kein Strom
- Überprüfen Sie, ob die Batterie richtig eingesetzt und geladen ist.
- Ensure the power/volume knob is turned clockwise to the 'ON' position.
2. Cannot Transmit or Receive
- Vergewissern Sie sich, dass alle Funkgeräte auf dem gleichen Kanal eingestellt sind.
- Check if CTCSS/DCS codes are correctly matched between radios.
- Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie sich innerhalb der effektiven Kommunikationsreichweite befinden.
- Prüfen Sie, ob es Hindernisse zwischen den Funkgeräten gibt.
3. Schlechte Audioqualität
- Passen Sie die Lautstärke an.
- Check the squelch level; a higher squelch level might filter out weak signals.
