3. Bedienungsanleitung
3.1 Chronographenfunktion
The chronograph allows for precise timing of events. Your watch features a chronograph movement with sub-dials for seconds, minutes, and a 24-hour indicator.
- Start: Press the top pusher (A) to start the chronograph. The central second hand will begin to move.
- Stop: Press the top pusher (A) again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time will be indicated by the central second hand and the minute sub-dial.
- Zurücksetzen: Nach dem Anhalten des Chronographen drücken Sie den unteren Drücker (B), um alle Chronographenzeiger auf ihre Nullstellung zurückzusetzen.
3.2 Tachymeterfunktion
The tachymeter scale, located on the outer rim of the dial, is used to measure speed over a known distance (e.g., 1 kilometer or 1 mile).
- Start the chronograph at the beginning of the measured distance (e.g., a mile marker).
- Stoppen Sie den Chronographen, sobald Sie das Ende der gemessenen Strecke erreicht haben.
- The number on the tachymeter scale indicated by the central chronograph second hand represents the average speed in units per hour (e.g., miles per hour or kilometers per hour).

4. Wartung
4.1 Wasserbeständigkeit
Your Timex Marlin watch is water-resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM). This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, showering, and fishing. It is not suitable for diving or snorkeling. Avoid operating the crown or pushers when the watch is wet to prevent water ingress.
4.2 Crystal Care
The watch features an acrylic crystal, which provides a classic vintage look. Acrylic crystals are more prone to minor scratches than sapphire crystals. Small scratches can often be buffed out using a specialized acrylic polish (e.g., PolyWatch) and a soft cloth. For deeper scratches or damage, professional service is recommended.
4.3 Batteriewechsel
The watch is powered by a lithium metal battery. When the watch stops running, it indicates the battery needs replacement. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.
4.4 Pflege des Lederarmbands
The natural leather strap will develop a unique patina over time. To prolong its life, avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and allow to air dry. If the strap becomes worn or damaged, it can be easily replaced using the quick-release spring bars.
5. Fehlerbehebung
5.1 Uhr läuft nicht
- Kronenposition prüfen: Ensure the crown is fully pushed into position 1.
- Batterie: If the watch has stopped completely, the battery may need replacement. Consult a professional watch technician.
5.2 Chronographenzeiger stellen sich nicht auf Null zurück.
If the chronograph hands (central second, minute sub-dial) do not return precisely to the zero position after resetting, they may need calibration.
- Ziehen Sie die Krone auf Position 2 heraus.
- Press the top pusher (A) repeatedly to advance the central chronograph second hand until it aligns with the 12 o'clock (zero) position.
- Press the bottom pusher (B) repeatedly to advance the chronograph minute sub-dial hand until it aligns with its zero position.
- Date Adjustment Window: Avoid adjusting the date manually between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this can interfere with the date change mechanism.
