Aufstellen
The CW1500 Broadcast Spreader comes largely pre-assembled. Initial setup primarily involves unfolding the handle and attaching the deflector.
1. Griffmontage:
The handle is designed to fold for compact storage. To prepare for use, simply lift the handle into its upright operating position until it locks securely into place. Ensure all locking mechanisms are engaged before proceeding.
2. Attaching the 3-Sided Deflector:
The included 3-sided deflector allows for more precise control of your spread pattern. Follow these steps to attach it:
- Locate the deflector assembly and the provided screws.
- Position the deflector onto the spreader frame at the rear, beneath the hopper, aligning the mounting holes.
- Using a Phillips head screwdriver, secure the deflector to the spreader frame with the screws. Ensure it is firmly attached but do not overtighten.
- Verify that the deflector flaps can move independently for adjustment.

Bedienungsanleitung
Proper operation ensures effective material distribution and extends the life of your spreader.
1. Filling the Hopper:
- Ensure the flow control lever is in the closed position to prevent material from spilling.
- Carefully pour the desired spreading material (fertilizer, seed, ice melt) into the hopper. Do not exceed the 65lb capacity.
- Wichtig: This spreader is NOT compatible with coarse rock salt. Using coarse rock salt may damage the agitator or gearbox.
2. Adjusting Spread Rate:
- The spreader features an adjustable T-bar style lever control with 20 settings to regulate the flow rate of material.
- Consult the material manufacturer's recommendations for the appropriate spread rate.
- Adjust the lever to the desired setting. A higher number typically indicates a greater flow rate.
3. Adjusting Spread Pattern (with Deflector):
- The 3-sided deflector allows for custom spread patterns. The flaps move independently.
- To narrow the spread or protect adjacent areas (e.g., flower beds, driveways), adjust the side flaps inward.
- The spreader also includes an adjustment plate for left and right pattern adjustment, allowing for fine-tuning of the spread direction.
4. Spreading:
- Begin walking at a consistent pace before opening the flow control lever.
- Maintain a steady speed during operation for an even spread.
- Close the flow control lever before stopping or turning to prevent over-application in one area.
- Um eine vollständige Abdeckung zu gewährleisten, sollten die Durchgänge leicht überlappen.
Wartung
Regular maintenance will ensure your spreader remains in optimal working condition.
1. Cleaning After Use:
- After each use, empty any remaining material from the hopper.
- Rinse the hopper, agitator, and spreader plate thoroughly with water.
- Ensure all components are completely dry before storage to prevent rust and corrosion.
- For stubborn residue, use a mild detergent and a brush, then rinse well.
2. Schmierung:
- Periodically check the axle and gearbox for smooth operation.
- Apply a light lubricant to moving parts as needed, avoiding contact with the material flow path.
3. Lagerung:
- Store the spreader in a clean, dry area, protected from the elements.
- The handle can be folded down for more compact storage.
- Inspect the tires for proper inflation before each season of use.
