4. Einrichtung und Installation

The DAYTECH AJ-762 smoke detector offers two installation methods: magnetic mounting for quick, drill-free setup, and traditional screw mounting for a more permanent fixture.

4.1 Auswählen eines Installationsorts

For optimal smoke detection, install the detector in the center of the ceiling in each room. Avoid installing near air vents, windows, or in areas with high humidity (e.g., bathrooms) or extreme temperatures.

4.2 Magnetic Mounting (Drill-Free)

1. Reinigen Sie die Oberfläche: Ensure the ceiling surface is clean, dry, and smooth.
2. Klebepads anbringen: Peel the protective film from the 3M adhesive pads and firmly attach them to the magnetic mounting plate.
3. Montieren Sie die Platte: Peel the remaining protective film from the adhesive pads on the magnetic plate and press the plate firmly onto the chosen ceiling location for at least 30 seconds.
4. Detektor anschließen: Align the smoke detector with the magnetic plate on the ceiling. The magnets will secure the detector in place.

4.3 Screw Mounting (Traditional)

1. Bohrlöcher markieren: Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark two drill holes on the ceiling.
2. Bohrlöcher: Drill holes at the marked positions. Insert the wall plugs if necessary.
3. Sichere Halterung: Befestigen Sie die Montagehalterung mit den mitgelieferten Schrauben an der Decke.
4. Detektor anschließen: Richten Sie den Rauchmelder an der Montagehalterung aus und drehen Sie ihn im Uhrzeigersinn, bis er hörbar einrastet.

4.4 Post-Installation Test

After installation, always perform a test to ensure the detector is functioning correctly. Refer to section 5.1 for testing instructions.

5. Bedienungsanleitung

5.1 Testen des Rauchmelders

It is recommended to test your smoke detector at least once a month to ensure it is working properly.

1. Press and hold the test/silence button located on the center of the detector for approximately 2 seconds.
2. The detector will emit a loud alarm sound (85 dB) and the LED indicator will flash red.
3. Release the button. The alarm will stop, and the LED will return to its normal operating state (flashing every 50 seconds).

5.2 Stummschaltung

In case of a non-emergency alarm (e.g., cooking fumes), you can temporarily silence the alarm:

• The alarm will be silenced for approximately 10 minutes. The red LED will flash every 10 seconds to indicate it is in silence mode.

5.3 Alarm bei niedrigem Batteriestand

The detector is equipped with a 10-year sealed lithium battery. When the battery is nearing the end of its life, the detector will emit a short chirp every 50 seconds, accompanied by a red LED flash. This indicates that the unit needs to be replaced. This alert will continue for approximately 30 days before the battery is fully depleted.

6. Wartung

• Monatlicher Test: Test the smoke detector monthly using the test/silence button.
• Reinigung: Dust can accumulate on the detector and affect its performance. Gently vacuum the exterior of the detector with a soft brush attachment at least once a year. Do not use water or cleaning solvents.
• Nicht zerlegen: Do not attempt to open the smoke detector. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
