Turn off the disposal, insert the self-service wrenchette (1/4-inch hex key) into the center hole at the bottom of the unit, and work it back and forth until the jam turns freely. Then press the red reset button.
The red reset button is located on the bottom (underside) of the disposal unit. If it has tripped, it will be popped out slightly; gently press it back in to reset the motor.
Avoid putting large amounts of fibrous foods (like corn husks or celery), grease, oil, eggshells, or coffee grounds down the disposal, as these can cause clogs or drainage issues.
