4. Einrichtung und Installation

4.1 Vorbereitung vor dem Gebrauch

Before installing the controller, always disconnect the battery power supply. Do not attempt installation with the power on, as this can damage the equipment and pose a safety risk.

4.2 Understanding the Wiring Diagram

Sorgfältig erneutview the wiring diagram below and familiarize yourself with the function of each connector before proceeding with installation.

Detailed wiring diagram for the WinXu Brushless Dual-mode Controller, showing connections for battery, light power, low level brake, EABS, PAS sensor, auto-detection, throttle, power lock, LCD display, motor hall, and motor phase wires.

Each cable is color-coded for specific functions:

  • Rot: Power positive electrode
  • Schwarz: Macht negative Elektrode
  • Gelb: Leistungsabgabe
  • Braun: Lamp positive Elektrode
  • Weiß: Lamp negative Elektrode
  • Blau: Indicator signal
  • Grün: Signal receive

4.3 Connector Function Introduction and Installation Steps

  1. Motor Phase Wire: Connect the three thick phase wires (yellow, green, blue) from your motor to the corresponding controller wires according to the color code. Ensure a secure connection as these wires carry significant current.
  2. Motor Hall Sensor: Connect the motor Hall sensor. This controller uses a 6-wire Hall sensor. Red, yellow, and blue are Hall signal wires; red and black are working voltage; white is the motor speed signal. Connect according to correct colors. If your motor has a 5-wire Hall sensor, ignore the white speed signal cable; the controller will automatically obtain the motor speed signal from the Hall signal cable.
  3. LCD Display (UART Protocol): This 5-pin connector is for the LCD display. Red and black are for operating voltage, blue for controller power control, green is RX, and yellow is TX.

  4. Power Lock (Key Lock): Connect your bicycle's key lock switch to this connector if available. If your bicycle does not have a key lock, this connector can be ignored.
  5. Drosseln: This connector is for a Hall throttle (thumb or twist type), which receives a signal voltage of 1.1-4.2V. Red and black are operating voltage, and white is the Hall signal. Ensure correct connection.
  6. PAS Sensor (Pedal Assist System): This controller uses a magnetic pulse type PAS sensor. Red and black are power voltage wires, and blue is the pulse signal cable. Ensure compatibility with universal type PAS sensors.
  7. EABS (Electronic Automatic Braking System): If your scooter uses an EABS type brake, connect it here. EABS brakes are Hall brake systems. Do not use this connector for low-level brakes.
  8. Low-Level Brake: This is a power-off braking system that cuts motor power when brakes are applied. The black cable is negative, and the white cable is the brake signal. Connect correctly if your brake is a low-level type with 2 cables.
  9. Lichtleistung: This connector outputs battery voltage for devices like headlights, brake lights, horns, and USB chargers. Yellow is positive, black is negative.
  10. Batterie: This is the device's power supply. Connect positive and negative terminals correctly. Incorrect connection can cause short circuits, overheating, or damage. Connect the battery last, after checking all other components for proper connection and no short circuits. Double-check for reverse polarity.
  11. Automatic Detection (Self-Learning Cable): This connector is used for motor matching. After initial installation, use this connector:
    1. Turn on the device, lift the motor hub, and plug in this connector.
    2. The motor will start driving. If it drives in the opposite direction, disconnect and reconnect the connector to change direction.
    3. Once the motor drives in the correct direction without vibration, disconnect the self-learning cable. You can then test riding normally.

5.1 LCD Display Functions (S886)

The S886 LCD display provides clear state and data information, including speed, distance (ODO), battery level, and error codes. The backlight ensures visibility in dim environments. Buttons allow for quick operation.

Figure 3: S886 LCD Display Interface

  • Einschaltkennwort: The display allows setting a power-on password for security.
  • Lichtsteuerung: Control connected lights directly from the display.
  • Tempomatfunktion: Activate and manage the cruise control feature.
  • Boost-Funktion: Utilize the boost feature for additional power.
  • Geschwindigkeitsstufen: The vehicle speed can be divided into 3, 5, or 9 optional gear positions. The thumb throttle can be configured to operate with or without these gears.
  • Kilometerzähler (ODO): The LCD display features an odometer that memorizes the lifetime distance.

5.2 Initial Setup and E07 Error

After the first installation, if the controller has not completed motor matching and parameter detection, the display will show the E07 error code (Motor failure). To resolve this:

  1. Complete the motor matching operation using the self-learning cable as described in Section 4.3, step 11.
  2. Once motor matching is complete, use the throttle and high-speed gear to drive the motor at high speed.
  3. The controller will detect motor parameters and status. If no fault is detected during high-speed driving, the E07 error code will automatically clear.
  4. If E07 persists, it indicates insufficient driving speed or a fault with the motor or motor hall sensor. Check these components.

6. Troubleshooting: LCD Error Codes

The LCD display provides error codes to help diagnose issues. Refer to the table below for common error codes and their meanings:

FehlercodeBeschreibung
E02Bremsfehler
E03PAS sensor fault
E046KM/H cruise mode fault
E05Real-time cruise fault
