4. Einrichtung

4.1. Kompatibilitätsprüfung

The P5 supports both OBD and GPS modes. Please ensure your vehicle is compatible before installation.

  • OBD-Modus: Suitable for most OBDII compliant gasoline vehicles. Generally, U.S. cars produced after 2008 and most other cars produced after 2008 are compatible.
  • GPS-Modus: Not dependent on vehicle model, obtains data through satellite. Supports GPS, Beidou, and GLONASS satellite systems.

Important Note: The dual-system head-up display is only suitable for gasoline vehicles. It is NOT compatible with electric vehicles, diesel vehicles, hybrid vehicles, pickups, or passenger cars. If you have questions about compatibility, please contact the seller with your car's make, model, and year before purchase.

4.2. Locating the OBD2 Interface

To use the OBD mode, you need to locate your vehicle's OBD2 diagnostic port. This port is typically found in one of the following locations:

  • Under the hood, look for a sticker labeled "OBD2 CERTIFIED" (Figure 8, Figure 1).
  • Under the steering wheel, check for an automobile diagnosis port (Figure 8, Figure 2).

4.3. Installationsschritte

Follow these steps to install your P5 Head Up Display:

  1. OBD-Kabel anschließen: Locate your vehicle's OBD2 interface and firmly plug in the provided OBD cable.
  2. Kabelroute: Carefully route the OBD cable along the vehicle's interior, tucking it into seams (e.g., along the A-pillar) to keep it neat and out of the way.
  3. Connect to P5: Connect the other end of the OBD cable to the P5 host unit's Type-C interface.
  4. Position P5: Place the P5 unit on your dashboard using the adjustable bracket and non-slip mat. Adjust the viewing angle and height for optimal visibility using the 360° rotatable table on the bracket.

5. Bedienungsanleitung

5.1. Dual System Operation (OBD & GPS)

The P5 automatically detects the connection type. If connected via OBD, it will prioritize OBD data. If OBD is not available or not compatible, it will switch to GPS mode.

  • OBD-Modus: Displays real-time data from your vehicle's ECU.
  • GPS-Modus: Uses satellite signals to provide speed, altitude, time, and other GPS-derived data.

5.2. Interface Themes and Customization

5.4. Driving Score and G-Value Display

The driving scoring system accurately records driving behavior and provides reference warnings. It integrates with dynamic expressions to reflect driving pleasure and help develop good driving habits.

5.5. Systemeinstellungen

The P5 allows you to customize various settings, including language, communication mode, vehicle symbol, time zone, speed unit, temperature unit, and pressure unit. These settings are easily accessible and can be switched as needed.

5.6. Reading ECU Data

In OBD mode, the P5 can read all vehicle ECU data, providing practical information for the driver after processing. This includes various PIDs (Parameter IDs) such as coolant temperature, fuel system status, engine load, and fuel trim values.

6. Wartung

  • Reinigung: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the display screen and device exterior. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Software-Updates: The manufacturer regularly releases new features and optimizations. Resource packages, including car logos and interface themes, are updated regularly. Private car data is continuously added based on market demand and feedback. Ensure your device's software is up-to-date for optimal performance.
  • Lagerung: Bei längerer Nichtbenutzung sollte das Gerät an einem kühlen, trockenen Ort, vor direkter Sonneneinstrahlung und extremen Temperaturen geschützt aufbewahrt werden.

7. Fehlerbehebung

  • Gerät lässt sich nicht einschalten:
    • Ensure the OBD cable is securely connected to both the vehicle's OBD2 port and the P5 unit.
    • Check your vehicle's ignition status. The device typically powers on with the ignition.
    • Verify your vehicle's compatibility (gasoline vehicle, post-2008 for most regions).
  • No data displayed in OBD mode:
    • Confirm your vehicle is OBDII compliant and compatible (see Section 4.1).
    • Try restarting the vehicle and the P5 unit.
    • If the issue persists, the device may automatically switch to GPS mode.
  • Inaccurate GPS speed/data:
