6. Einrichtung

6.1 Einlegen der Batterie

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the tachometer.
2. Öffnen Sie die Batterieabdeckung.
3. Insert four (4) 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Schließen Sie die Batterieabdeckung fest.

6.2 Anbringen von Messzubehör

Select the appropriate accessory based on the type of measurement:

• For RPM Measurement (Rotational Speed): Use the concave or protruding touch tips. Gently press the tip onto the center of the rotating shaft.
• For Linear Surface Speed Measurement: Use one of the idler wheels (6-inch or 0.1-meter). Attach the wheel to the measurement bearing. The lengthening bar can be used to extend the reach if needed.

To attach an accessory, align it with the measurement bearing (1) and push it firmly into place. Ensure it is securely seated before use.

7. Bedienung

7.1 Ein-/Ausschalten

• Drücken Sie die Netzschalterschlüssel (3) to turn the device ON.
• To turn OFF, press and hold the Netzschalterschlüssel (3) for a few seconds, or the device will automatically power off after 30 seconds of inactivity.

7.2 Auswahl von Maßeinheiten

Nach dem Einschalten drücken Sie die MODE Switch Key (4) repeatedly to cycle through the available measurement units: RPM, m/min, m/sec, ft/min, ft/sec, in/min. The selected unit will be displayed on the LCD (2).

7.3 Durchführung von Messungen

1. Ensure the correct measurement accessory is attached and the desired unit is selected.
2. Halten Sie die Taste MEASURE (5). The device will start taking readings.
3. For RPM: Gently press the selected touch tip against the center of the rotating object.
4. For Linear Speed: Gently press the selected idler wheel against the surface of the moving object (e.g., conveyor belt, wheel circumference).
5. Read the measurement value on the LCD (2).
6. Lassen Sie den Taste MEASURE (5) to stop measuring.

7.4 Datenhaltefunktion

Drücken Sie während der Messung kurz die Taste Backlight and HOLD Composite Key (9) to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release Data Hold and resume live measurement.

7.5 MAX/MIN/AVG-Funktionen

Drücken Sie während der Messung die Maximum and Minimum Key (6) to cycle through Maximum (MAX), Minimum (MIN), and Average (AVG) readings recorded during the current measurement session.

7.6 Data Logging/Storage

• To store a reading: After taking a measurement, press the Data Storage Key (7). The device can store up to 100 groups of data.
• To read stored data: Press the Data Storage Read Key (8). Use the Plus-Taste (11) und Minustaste (10) to navigate through the stored records.

7.7 Hintergrundbeleuchtung

Drücken Sie kurz die Backlight and HOLD Composite Key (9) to toggle the display backlight ON or OFF.

8. Wartung

8.1 Reinigung

• Wischen Sie das Gerät mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch ab.
• Keine Scheuer- oder Lösungsmittel verwenden.
• Keep the measurement bearing and accessories free from dust and debris.

8.2 Batteriewechsel

When the low battery indicator appears on the LCD, replace all four (4) AAA batteries as described in Section 6.1. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

8.3 Speicherung

Store the tachometer and its accessories in the provided pouch bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

9. Fehlerbehebung

• Das Gerät lässt sich nicht einschalten: Prüfen Sie, ob die Batterien richtig eingesetzt sind und ausreichend geladen sind. Tauschen Sie die Batterien gegebenenfalls aus.
• Ungenaue Messwerte: Ensure the measurement accessory is firmly attached and making proper contact with the rotating/moving surface. Verify that the correct measurement unit is selected.
• Das Display ist dunkel oder flackert: Dies kann auf einen niedrigen Batteriestand hinweisen. Tauschen Sie die Batterien aus.
• Kein Messwert angezeigt: Ensure the MEASURE key is pressed and held during measurement. Check for any obstructions to the measurement bearing.

10. Benutzertipps

• Akku-Typ: Remember that the PM6208A requires 4x 1.5V AAA batteries, which are not included in the package. Always have spare batteries on hand for uninterrupted use.
• Einheitenauswahl: This tachometer offers a wide range of units (RPM, m/min, m/sec, ft/min, ft/sec, in/min). Make sure to select the appropriate unit for your specific application using the MODE key to ensure accurate and relevant readings.
• Contact Measurement Only: The PM6208A is a Kontakt digital tachometer. It does not perform optical (non-contact) measurements. Ensure direct physical contact with the rotating or moving surface for accurate results.
• Stable Contact: For best accuracy, maintain stable and consistent contact between the measurement accessory and the target surface during measurement.
