This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Hunter 27183 Traditional Wall Control with Preset. Please read these instructions carefully before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety.
The Hunter 27183 wall control is designed to provide four fan speeds and full-range light dimming for your ceiling fan. It includes a preset feature to control fan and light operation at desired settings.

Note: A rocker switchplate is not included and must be purchased separately.
Setup und Installation
The Hunter 27183 wall control is designed for installation in a standard three-wire, single box wall switch. Professional installation is recommended.
- Strom ausschalten: Before starting, ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker or fuse box to avoid electrical shock.
- Vorhandenen Switch entfernen: Carefully remove the existing wall switch from the wall box. Disconnect the wires, noting their connections.
- Drahtverbindungen: Connect the wires from the wall box to the Hunter 27183 wall control according to the wiring diagram provided with the unit. Typically, this involves connecting the Line (hot) wire, Load (fan/light) wires, and Ground wire. Ensure all connections are secure using wire nuts.
- Montagesteuerung: Gently push the wired control into the wall box. Secure the control to the wall box using the provided screws.
- Install Switchplate: Attach a compatible rocker switchplate (not included) over the control.
- Strom wiederherstellen: Turn power back on at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

Bedienungsanleitung
The Hunter 27183 wall control features separate sliders for fan speed and light dimming, along with a preset function.
- Lüfterdrehzahlregelung: Use the fan slider to select one of the four available fan speeds. Move the slider up for higher speeds and down for lower speeds.
- Lichtdimmung: Use the light slider to adjust the brightness of your ceiling fan light. Move the slider up to increase brightness and down to dim the light.
- Preset Feature: The control includes a preset function. Once you have set your desired fan speed and light level, you can use the main rocker switch (if present on your switchplate) to turn the fan and light on/off at these preset settings without readjusting the sliders.
General Ceiling Fan Operation
Understanding how your ceiling fan operates in different seasons can help optimize comfort and energy savings when used with your Hunter wall control.
Figure 3: In summer, set your ceiling fan blades to rotate counter-clockwise. This creates a downward airflow, producing a wind-chill effect that can make a room feel cooler, allowing you to set your thermostat higher.

Wartung
The Hunter 27183 wall control requires minimal maintenance.
