1. Einleitung

The Buffalo LinkStation Live is a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device designed for seamless data storage and sharing across a home network. It allows access by any PC or Mac on your home network. Upon unpacking your Buffalo LinkStation Live, please verify that all the following components are included:

3. Einrichtung

3.1 Physische Verbindung

3.2 Software Installation (Using Setup CD-ROM)

  1. Insert the Setup CD-ROM into your computer's CD/DVD drive.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the necessary software, including the NAS Navigator utility.
  3. Once installed, launch the NAS Navigator. It will detect your LinkStation Live on the network.
  4. Follow the wizard to configure network settings, user accounts, and shared folders.

4. Operating the LinkStation Live

The LinkStation Live allows you to store and share files with any Windows or Macintosh computer on your network. Shared folders can be accessed via network drives or through the NAS Navigator utility.

4.2 Web Zugang

Utilize Buffalo's Web Access feature to download files, view pictures, stream music and movies, and upload data to your LinkStation Live from anywhere over the Internet. This feature also supports access from an iPhone.

4.3 Multimedia Streaming (DLNA & iTunes Server)

  • DLNA-Server: Stream your favorite music and movies to any DLNA-compatible media player, such as the Buffalo LinkTheater.
  • iTunes Server: Store all your iTunes media on the LinkStation Live, freeing up space on your computer's hard drive. Your iTunes library can then access media directly from the LinkStation.

4.4 Built-in BitTorrent Client

The integrated BitTorrent client allows the LinkStation Live to manage torrent file downloads independently, even when your computer is turned off or disconnected.

5. Wartung

5.1 Power Savings Mode

The LinkStation Live features a power savings mode that can reduce power consumption by up to 75%. This mode allows the device to power down based on the power state of your connected computer, contributing to energy efficiency.

5.2 Firmware-Updates

  • Confirm that the LinkStation Live is visible in NAS Navigator.
  • Check user permissions for the shared folders. Ensure the user account you are using has access rights.
  • Verify that your computer is on the same network subnet as the LinkStation Live.

  • Check for other heavy network traffic that might be consuming bandwidth.
