4. Einrichtung und Installation

Follow these steps to properly set up your Cisco Catalyst 3560-CX switch:

  1. Auspacken der Switch: Carefully remove the switch and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any physical damage.
  2. Montage:
    • Desktop-Platzierung: Place the switch on a flat, stable surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around the unit.
    • Wandmontage: Use the provided mounting kit (if applicable) to securely attach the switch to a wall. Ensure the mounting surface can support the switch's weight.
  3. Strom anschließen: Connect the power cord to the switch's power input and then to a grounded electrical outlet.
  4. Erste Netzwerkverbindung:
    • Connect an Ethernet cable from your network's router or another switch to one of the Gigabit Ethernet ports (1-12) on the Catalyst 3560-CX.
    • For high-speed uplinks, insert appropriate SFP+ transceivers into the SFP+ ports (1-2) and connect fiber or copper cables to your core network.
  5. Geräte verbinden: Connect your network devices (e.g., IP phones, wireless access points, PCs) to the remaining Gigabit Ethernet ports. For PoE-enabled devices, ensure they are connected to ports configured for PoE.
  6. Einschalten: Once all connections are secure, power on the switch. Observe the LED indicators for system status.
  7. Erstkonfiguration (optional): For advanced configuration, connect a console cable from your computer to the switch's CONSOLE port and use a terminal emulation program (e.g., PuTTY) to access the command-line interface (CLI). Refer to Cisco's official documentation for detailed configuration guides.
