2. Aufbau und Montage
Your Veradek Span Planter arrives in a flat-packed state and requires assembly. All necessary hardware is included. Please follow these steps carefully:
- Komponenten auspacken: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Verify that all components and hardware are present according to the packing list.
- Assemble Planter Body: Connect the side panels and base using the provided hardware. Ensure all connections are secure. Note: Some users have reported difficulty reaching screws inside the planter during assembly. It may be helpful to lay the planter on its side or use extended tools for easier access to the internal fasteners.
- Install Insert Shelf: Place the removable insert shelf into the designated position inside the planter. This shelf helps reduce the amount of soil needed and allows for easier plant changes.
- Insert Insulation: Place the styrofoam insulation panels along the interior walls of the planter. This insulation provides protection for plants in varying temperatures.

Accelerating the Rusting Process (Optional)
Corten steel arrives in an unrusted state and will naturally develop its protective rust patina over several weeks or months when exposed to weather. To accelerate this process, you can apply a solution of hydrogen peroxide, salt, and vinegar. Spray the solution evenly over the planter's surface. Repeat this application over a few days until the desired patina is achieved. Be aware that during the initial rusting phase, some rust runoff may occur, which can stain surfaces. Consider placing the planter on pea gravel or a drip tray to manage this runoff.
3. Betrieb und Nutzung
Once assembled, your Veradek Span Planter is ready for planting. Consider the following for optimal use:
- Pflanzung: Fill the planter with appropriate potting mix and your desired plants. The removable insert shelf allows you to adjust the soil depth as needed.
- Drainage: Ensure proper drainage for your plants. If the drainage plugs are removed, excess water will drain from the bottom. If plugs are inserted, monitor soil moisture carefully to prevent waterlogging.

4. Wartung
