3. Aufbau und Montage

Unpack all components and ensure they are present and undamaged. Assembly typically involves attaching the band saw unit to its stand, installing the saw blade, and setting up the rip fence and cross-cut gauge.

3.1 Montage des Ständers

  1. Assemble the stand components according to the diagrams provided in the separate assembly guide.
  2. Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Schrauben und Befestigungselemente fest angezogen sind.
  3. Attach the band saw unit to the assembled stand, ensuring it is stable and level.

3.2 Saw Blade Installation and Tensioning

  1. Trennen Sie die Stromversorgung. Open the upper and lower blade covers.
  2. Carefully place the saw blade around the upper and lower band wheels, ensuring the teeth are pointing downwards towards the table.
  3. Adjust the blade tension knob (usually located at the top of the saw) until the blade is taut but not overly tight. The blade should deflect slightly when pressed gently.
  4. Adjust the blade tracking so the blade runs centrally on the band wheels.
  5. Close the blade covers.

3.3 Blade Guide Adjustment

Properly adjusted blade guides are crucial for accurate cuts and blade longevity.

  1. Adjust the upper blade guide assembly so it is approximately 3-6 mm above the workpiece.
  2. Ensure the side guides are close to the blade but not touching, allowing the blade to run freely.
  3. The thrust bearing (behind the blade) should be just behind the blade, not touching when the blade is idle, but supporting it during cutting.

3.4 Rip Fence and Cross-Cut Gauge Installation

Install the rip fence onto the saw table. The double-sided guided rip fence can be easily locked with its quick-release fastener for precise straight cuts.

The cross-cut gauge slides into the miter slot on the table and is used for making accurate cross-cuts and angled cuts.
