1. Einleitung

This manual provides essential information for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your HEIMAN Z-Wave Carbon Monoxide Detector. This device is designed to detect carbon monoxide (CO) gas and alert you to its presence, integrating with your Z-Wave smart home system for enhanced safety.

2. Wichtige Sicherheitshinweise

• This device is a carbon monoxide detector and is not designed to detect smoke, fire, or other gases.
• Do not paint the detector. Paint can clog the sensor openings and prevent the unit from functioning properly.

3. Einrichtung und Installation

3.1 Einlegen der Batterie

1. Twist the base of the detector counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment.
2. Insert one CR123A battery into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
3. Remove the protective pull tab if present.
4. Close the battery compartment by aligning the base and twisting clockwise until it clicks securely.

3.2 Montage des Detektors

The detector can be mounted on a wall or ceiling. Carbon monoxide is slightly lighter than air and mixes readily with it. For optimal detection, install the detector:

• In or near sleeping areas.
• On every level of your home.
• At least 1.5 meters (5 feet) from fuel-burning appliances.
• Avoid mounting in corners, near windows, doors, or areas with high airflow.

3.3 Einbindung/Ausschluss in das Z-Wave-Netzwerk

To integrate the detector into your Z-Wave network:

1. Versetzen Sie Ihr Z-Wave-Gateway in den Kopplungsmodus. Spezifische Anweisungen finden Sie im Handbuch Ihres Gateways.
2. Press the Z-Wave button on the detector three times quickly. The detector will send an inclusion request to the gateway.
3. Once successfully included, the detector will appear in your gateway's device list.
4. To exclude the device, put your Z-Wave gateway into exclusion mode and press the Z-Wave button on the detector three times quickly.

4. Bedienung

4.1 LED Indicators and Sound Patterns

The detector uses a combination of LED flashes and beeps to indicate its status:

• Vorwärmen: Red LED flashes and four beeps.
• CO-Alarm: Grüne LED blinkt alle 50 Sekunden.
• Normal Detection: Single beep every 50 seconds.
• Schwache Batterie: Zwei Pieptöne alle 10 Sekunden.
• Fehlfunktion: Red LED flashes every 10 seconds, with CO alarm and silent.

4.2 Testen des Detektors

Es wird empfohlen, Ihren CO-Detektor wöchentlich zu testen, um eine ordnungsgemäße Funktion zu gewährleisten.

1. Halten Sie die Testtaste am Melder einige Sekunden lang gedrückt.

3. Release the button. The detector will return to normal operation.

5. Wartung

5.1 Batteriewechsel

The detector is powered by one CR123A battery with an estimated lifespan of 3 years. When the battery is low, the detector will emit two beeps every 10 seconds. Replace the battery immediately when this occurs.

1. Twist the base of the detector counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment.
2. Die alte CR123A-Batterie entfernen.
