1. Einleitung
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Scheppach BAP350 submersible water pump. Please read these instructions carefully before use and keep them for future reference. This pump is designed for pumping clear or slightly contaminated water from various sources such as ponds, rain barrels, and flooded basements.
2. Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
Beachten Sie stets die folgenden Sicherheitsvorkehrungen, um Verletzungen und Schäden an der Pumpe zu vermeiden:
- Elektrische Sicherheit: Ensure the power supply matches the pump's specifications (230 Volts). Always connect the pump to a properly grounded outlet protected by a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current of no more than 30 mA. Do not operate the pump with a damaged power cord or plug.
- Wassersicherheit: Never operate the pump in swimming pools or areas where people are in the water. Do not pump flammable, explosive, or corrosive liquids.
- Persönliche Sicherheit: Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the pump during operation. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment if necessary.
- Installation: Ensure the pump is stable and cannot tip over. Do not lift the pump by its power cable or discharge hose.
- Wartung: Always disconnect the pump from the power supply before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or adjustments.
3. Packungsinhalt
Carefully unpack the product and check that all items are present and undamaged. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact your dealer immediately.

4. Einrichtung
4.1 Anschließen des Abflussschlauchs
Attach a suitable discharge hose (not included) to the pump's outlet. Ensure the connection is secure and watertight to prevent leaks and maintain optimal flow. The pump is designed to accommodate standard hose connections.

4.2 Positioning the Pump
Place the pump on a stable, level surface in the water to be pumped. Ensure the pump is fully submerged and not resting directly on mud or debris, which could block the intake. If necessary, suspend the pump using a rope attached to its handle.
4.3 Elektrischer Anschluss
Connect the pump's power plug to a grounded electrical outlet (230V) that is protected by an RCD. Ensure the power cord is not stretched, pinched, or submerged in water during operation.
4.4 Adjusting the Float Switch
The float switch controls the automatic on/off function of the pump. Adjust the length of the float switch cable to set the desired water levels for activation and deactivation. A longer cable length between the pump and the float switch will result in a wider operating range (higher on-level, lower off-level).

Abbildung 2: Seite view illustrating the float switch mechanism and its connection to the pump.
5. Betrieb der Pumpe
5.1 Automatikbetrieb
Once the pump is connected and the float switch is adjusted, the pump will automatically start when the water level rises and lifts the float switch. It will stop when the water level drops and the float switch falls below the minimum level.
5.2 Manueller Betrieb
For continuous operation, the float switch can be secured in an upright position. This will keep the pump running regardless of the water level. Vorsicht: Do not allow the pump to run dry, as this can cause severe damage. Monitor the water level closely during manual operation.
5.3 Herunterfahren
To stop the pump, either allow the float switch to drop to its off-position (automatic mode) or unplug the pump from the power supply (manual mode). Remove the pump from the water after use and clean it thoroughly.
6. Wartung
Regelmäßige Wartung gewährleistet die Langlebigkeit und optimale Leistung Ihrer Pumpe.
6.1 Reinigung der Pumpe
After each use, especially when pumping dirty water, rinse the pump with clean water to remove any debris. Check the intake screen for blockages and clean it if necessary. Disconnect from power before cleaning.
6.2 Speicherung
When not in use for extended periods, clean the pump, drain any remaining water, and store it in a dry, frost-free location. Protect the power cord from damage.
6.3 Regelmäßige Inspektion
Periodically inspect the power cord, plug, and pump housing for any signs of damage. Ensure the float switch moves freely. Do not use the pump if any damage is detected; contact qualified service personnel for repairs.
7. Fehlerbehebung
Before attempting any repairs, always disconnect the pump from the power supply.
