Setup und Installation

The Nest x Yale Lock is designed for straightforward installation, replacing your existing deadbolt. An installation guide is included in the box with detailed diagrams.

Bevor Sie beginnen

Installationsschritte

1. Remove your existing deadbolt from the door.
2. Install the new Nest x Yale Lock components (exterior keypad, interior assembly, and deadbolt mechanism) according to the included installation guide. Ensure all cables are properly connected.
3. Insert the 4 AA batteries into the battery compartment of the interior assembly.
4. Plug in the Nest Connect device into a power outlet within close proximity to the lock and your home Wi-Fi router. The Nest Connect facilitates communication between your lock and the Nest service in the cloud, enabling app control and remote features.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions in the Nest app to pair your lock with Nest Connect and complete the initial setup process, including creating passcodes.

Bedienung Ihres Schlosses

Schlüsselloser Zugang

The lock features a responsive keypad for convenient keyless entry. To unlock the door, simply enter your unique passcode on the keypad and press the checkmark button. The deadbolt will retract, allowing entry.

One-Touch-Verriegelung

To lock the door from the outside, simply tap the Yale logo on the keypad. The deadbolt will automatically extend, securing your door. This feature provides quick and easy locking as you leave.

Remote Control via Nest App

With the Nest app and Nest Connect, you can lock and unlock your door remotely from anywhere with an active internet connection. You will also receive mobile notifications for lock activity, such as when someone enters or exits.

Guest Access and Schedules

The Nest app allows you to create unique passcodes for family members, friends, or service providers. You can set custom schedules for when these passcodes are active, providing controlled access for specific times or durations.

Automatische Sperrfunktion

Enable the auto-lock feature in the Nest app to automatically lock your door after a set period (e.g., 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes) once it has been unlocked. This ensures your home remains secure even if you forget to lock it manually.

Datenschutzmodus

When you do not wish to be disturbed or want to prevent entry, activate Privacy Mode from the interior side of the lock. This disables the exterior keypad, preventing entry with any passcode until the mode is manually deactivated.

Integration with Nest Ecosystem

The Nest x Yale Lock works seamlessly with other Nest devices, such as Nest Doorbells and Nest Cams. This integration allows you to see who is at your door before granting them access, enhancing your overall home security system.

Wartung

Batteriewechsel

The Nest x Yale Lock is powered by 4 AA batteries. When battery levels are low, you will receive notifications via the Nest app and an audible alert from the lock itself. To replace the batteries:

1. Entfernen Sie die Batterieabdeckung an der Innenseite des Schlosses.
2. Entnehmen Sie vorsichtig die alten Batterien.
3. Replace all four AA batteries with new, high-quality alkaline batteries. Ensure correct polarity.
4. Bringen Sie die Batterieabdeckung wieder fest an.

Notiz: In case of complete battery depletion, a 9V battery can be temporarily used on the exterior keypad's terminals for emergency power. This allows you to enter a code and unlock the door to replace the internal AA batteries.

Reinigung

Clean the exterior keypad and interior components with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish and electronic components of the lock.

Fehlerbehebung

Schloss reagiert nicht

• Ensure Nest Connect is plugged in, powered on, and connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
• Attempt to restart the lock by temporarily removing and reinserting the batteries.

Passcode funktioniert nicht

• Verify that the correct passcode is being entered.
• Check if Privacy Mode is currently active on the interior side of the lock.
• Ensure the passcode has not expired or been disabled within the Nest app.

Remote Access Issues

• Confirm your Nest Connect has a stable internet connection.
