1. Einleitung
This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Brita Large 10-Cup Water Filter Pitcher. Designed to provide cleaner, great-tasting tap water, this pitcher features a SmartLight indicator for convenient filter tracking and is made without BPA.

2. Einrichtung
- Komponenten auspacken: Remove all parts from the packaging: pitcher, lid, and filter.
- Waschkrug: Hand-wash the pitcher and lid with mild detergent and rinse thoroughly. Do not wash the filter in a dishwasher.
- Filter vorbereiten: Submerge the new Brita Standard filter in cold water for 15 seconds to remove loose carbon particles and air bubbles.
- Filter einfügen: Align the groove on the filter with the ridge in the pitcher's reservoir. Press the filter firmly into the reservoir until it clicks into place.
- Erstfiltration: Fill the reservoir with cold tap water. Discard the first two pitchers of filtered water or use them for plants. This primes the filter.

3. Bedienungsanleitung
- Den Krug füllen: Open the easy-fill lid. Place the pitcher under a cold water tap and fill the reservoir. The water will filter through to the main pitcher compartment.
- Filtervorgang: Allow the water to pass through the filter completely before pouring. This ensures optimal filtration.
- Wasser gießen: Once filtered, simply tilt the pitcher to pour clean water from the spout.

4. Wartung
4.1 Reinigung
Regular cleaning of your Brita pitcher is recommended. Hand-wash all parts (except the filter) with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly. The pitcher is not dishwasher safe.
4.2 Filterwechsel
For best results, replace your Brita Standard water filter every 40 gallons or approximately every 2 months. The SmartLight indicator on the lid will help you track filter life.

5. SmartLight Indicator
The Brita SmartLight indicator on the lid provides a visual cue for when to change your filter:
- Grünes Licht: Der Filter ist in gutem Zustand.
- Gelbes Licht: Filter needs to be changed soon. Prepare a new filter.
- Rotlicht: Filter needs to be changed. Replace the filter immediately for optimal performance.
To reset the SmartLight indicator after replacing the filter, press and hold the reset button on the lid for 5 seconds until the green light flashes.

6. Fehlerbehebung
- Langsame Filtration: Ensure the filter is properly seated. If the issue persists, the filter may be clogged and require replacement.
- Geschmack/Geruch des Wassers: If the filtered water still has an undesirable taste or odor, ensure the filter was properly primed (discarding the first two pitchers). If the problem continues, replace the filter.
- SmartLight Indicator Not Working: Check if the battery is depleted. Some models have replaceable batteries. If not, contact customer support.
- Wasser läuft aus: Verify that all components, especially the filter and lid, are correctly assembled and securely in place.
