The Aroha Safety Pro SM11 smoke detector is designed for effortless installation. Follow these steps for optimal placement and secure mounting.

5.1 Empfohlene Platzierung

• Install smoke detectors in every sleeping area and on every level of your home, including the basement.
• For best protection, install a smoke detector in each room, especially bedrooms.
• Mount the detector on the ceiling, at least 10 cm (4 inches) from any wall. If wall mounting is necessary, place the detector between 10-30 cm (4-12 inches) from the ceiling.
• Avoid placing detectors near windows, doors, or air vents, as drafts can interfere with smoke detection.
• Keep detectors away from areas with high humidity (e.g., bathrooms) or cooking fumes (e.g., kitchens) to prevent nuisance alarms.

5.2 Montageschritte

1. Choose a suitable mounting location on the ceiling or wall, following the recommendations above.
2. Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark the positions for drilling two holes.
3. Drill the marked holes and insert the wall plugs (dowels).
4. Attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling/wall using the provided screws. Ensure it is securely fastened.
5. Align the smoke detector with the mounting bracket and twist it clockwise until it clicks into place. This action will activate the detector.

6. Bedienung

Understanding how to operate and test your smoke detector is crucial for your safety.

6.1 Testen des Rauchmelders

Es wird empfohlen, Ihren Rauchmelder wöchentlich zu testen, um sicherzustellen, dass er ordnungsgemäß funktioniert.

1. Press and hold the large central button (the entire front surface) on the smoke detector for a few seconds.
2. The alarm will sound loudly (85 dB) and the LED indicator will flash.

1. Press the large central button on the smoke detector.
2. The alarm will silence for approximately 10 minutes.
3. The detector will automatically reset after the mute period if the smoke has cleared. If smoke is still present, the alarm will reactivate.

• Ensure no moisture enters the detector.

7.2 Batterielebensdauer und Batterieaustausch

The Aroha Safety Pro SM11 is equipped with a sealed 10-year lithium battery. This battery is designed to last the entire lifespan of the detector and is not replaceable.

• When the battery is nearing the end of its 10-year life, the detector will emit a short chirp every 30-40 seconds, accompanied by a flashing LED. This is the low battery warning.
• Upon hearing the low battery warning, replace the entire smoke detector unit immediately.
• Do not attempt to open the unit or replace the battery yourself.
