Einführung
The GRAPHITE Energy+ 18V 2-in-1 Pole Saw and Hedge Trimmer (Model 58G098) is a versatile garden tool designed for efficient pruning and trimming tasks. This cordless device operates on the GRAPHITE Energy+ 18V Lithium-Ion battery system (battery not included). It combines the functionality of a pole saw for cutting branches and a hedge trimmer for shaping hedges and shrubs, offering extended reach for higher areas.

Aufstellen
1. Attaching the Extension Arm
The extension arm allows for increased reach. To attach, align the hexagonal end of the extension arm with the corresponding socket on the main unit. Push firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure the connection is secure.

2. Attaching the Pole Saw Head
To attach the pole saw head, align the drive shaft of the saw head with the coupling on the extension arm (or main unit if not using the extension). Push and twist slightly until the head is fully seated and locked. Ensure the locking mechanism is engaged.

3. Attaching the Hedge Trimmer Head
Similar to the pole saw head, align the drive shaft of the hedge trimmer head with the coupling on the extension arm (or main unit). Push and twist slightly until the head is fully seated and locked. Verify the locking mechanism is engaged.
4. Installieren der Batterie
Insert a charged GRAPHITE Energy+ 18V Lithium-Ion battery into the battery slot on the handle of the main unit. Push until it clicks into place. To remove, press the release button and pull the battery out.

Allgemeine Bedienung
- Before starting, ensure the area is clear and you have a stable footing.
- Halten Sie das Werkzeug immer mit beiden Händen fest.
- To start the tool, press the safety lock-off button and then squeeze the trigger switch. Release the trigger to stop.
- Utilize the shoulder strap for improved balance and reduced fatigue during extended use.
Using the Pole Saw Attachment
The pole saw is designed for cutting branches up to 8 inches (200 mm) in diameter.
- Einstellung der Kettenspannung: The pole saw features tool-less chain tensioning. Rotate the red knob to adjust chain tension. The chain should be snug but still able to be pulled freely around the guide bar.
- Schmierung: Ensure the chain oil reservoir is filled before use. The saw chain requires continuous lubrication during operation.
- Schnitttechnik: Position the saw head on the branch, allowing the chain to reach full speed before beginning the cut. Make a small undercut first to prevent pinching, then complete the cut from the top.

Using the Hedge Trimmer Attachment
The hedge trimmer is suitable for trimming hedges and shrubs with branches up to 15 mm in diameter.
- Winkeleinstellung: The hedge trimmer head can be adjusted to various angles for optimal cutting. Press the red button and rotate the head to the desired angle, then release the button to lock it in place.
- Trimmtechnik: Use a sweeping motion to cut through hedges. For thicker branches, make several passes. Avoid forcing the blades through dense material.

Wartung
- Reinigung: After each use, clean the tool thoroughly. Remove any debris, sawdust, or sap from the cutting attachments. Use a damp cloth for the main unit.
- Blade/Chain Care:
- For the pole saw chain, ensure it is always sharp and properly tensioned. Replace worn or damaged chains.
- For the hedge trimmer blades, regularly clean and lubricate them with a light machine oil to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation.
