This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your Delta Bike Hoist Pro with Kayak Straps (2-Pack). This heavy-duty ceiling storage system is designed to elevate and secure various items, including road, commuter, and mountain bikes, kayaks, and ladders, up to 100 lbs. The pre-assembled design simplifies installation, featuring sliding pulleys for a custom fit and an auto-locking mechanism for enhanced safety.

Setup und Installation

The Delta Bike Hoist Pro is designed for straightforward installation into ceiling joists. Ensure you have the necessary tools: a Phillips head screwdriver, a drill with a 1/8" (3mm) drill bit, and a stud locator.

1. Locate Ceiling Joist: Use a stud finder to accurately locate the ceiling joist where the hoist rail will be mounted. Mark the center of the joist.
2. Befestigungslöcher markieren: Hold the hoist rail against the ceiling, aligning it with the marked joist. Slide the pulleys to access all mounting holes. Use a pencil to mark the locations for the screws.
3. Pilotlöcher bohren: Using a drill with a 1/8" (3mm) drill bit, drill pilot holes at each marked location. Ensure each hole penetrates into the ceiling joist for secure mounting.
4. Mount Hoist Rail: Using the provided screws, securely mount the hoist rail into the ceiling joist. Ensure all screws are tightened.
5. Adjust Pulleys: Slide the pulleys along the rail to the desired width to accommodate your item (bike, kayak, or ladder). Tighten the set screws on the pulleys to secure them in place.
6. Mount Cord Cleat: Select a wall location for the cord cleat, ensuring it is at a safe height, out of reach of small children, and ideally into a wall stud. Use the two supplied wood screws to mount the cleat securely.

Bedienungsanleitung

1. Attaching Your Item: Lower the hooks by pulling the rope. For bikes, attach one hook to the handlebars and the other to the seat or rear rack. For kayaks or ladders, use the included straps to secure the item, then attach the hooks to the straps.
2. Raising Your Item: Pull the free end of the rope straight down in a hand-over-hand motion. The auto-locking mechanism will engage as you pull, preventing accidental drops. Continue pulling until your item reaches the desired height.
3. Securing the Rope: Once the item is raised, pull the rope slightly to the side to ensure the auto-lock is fully engaged. Wrap any excess rope around the wall-mounted cord cleat to keep it tidy and provide an additional safety measure. DO NOT CUT EXCESS CORD.
4. Lowering Your Item: To lower, unwrap the rope from the cleat. Stand directly underneath the two-pulley carriage on the hoist and pull the rope straight down to disengage the auto-lock. Slowly release the rope in a controlled manner to lower your item.

Wartung

• Regelmäßige Inspektion: Periodically inspect the hoist system, including the rail, pulleys, hooks, rope, and mounting screws, for any signs of wear, damage, or loosening.
• Seilzustand: Check the nylon tensile cord for fraying or damage. If the rope shows significant wear, contact customer support for a replacement.
• Schmierung: Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the pulley axles if you notice any stiffness or squeaking during operation.
• Reinigung: Wipe down the metal components with a damp cloth to remove dust and grime. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.

Fehlerbehebung

• Auto-Lock Not Releasing: Ensure you are pulling the rope straight down from the two-pulley carriage. If pulled at an angle, the auto-lock may not disengage properly. Adjust your position to pull vertically.
• Rope Appears Too Short: If you previously shortened the rope, it might not have enough length to fully lower your item. Always ensure the rope is long enough to reach the floor when the item is fully lowered. If necessary, obtain a replacement rope.
• Difficulty Mounting to Joists: If your ceiling joist spacing does not align with the hoist's mounting holes, consider installing a sturdy wooden mounting board across multiple joists first, then attach the hoist rail to the board.
• Item Not Level When Hoisted: Adjust the position of the sliding pulleys along the rail to achieve a balanced lift for your specific item. Ensure the set screws are tightened after adjustment.
