4.1 Eingänge und Voreinstellungenamps

  • Channels 1 & 2 (Mono): XLR/TRS combo jacks. These channels support 48V phantom power, which is applied to both inputs simultaneously. The L6 features 32-bit float digital architecture, eliminating the need for manual gain adjustments. Internal analog-to-digital converters automatically switch between high and low gain preamps based on input signal level.
  • Channels 3-6 (Stereo): 1/4" L/R input jacks. These channels have a single internal preamp.
  • USB-C-Audioeingang: Digital audio from a phone or tablet can be routed to Channel 5 or 6 by pressing the "USB" button above the encoder for the desired channel.
  • MIDI: 3.5mm TRS MIDI IN and MIDI OUT ports are available for connecting MIDI devices.
  • Notiz: The L6 does not feature Hi-Z inputs. Electric guitars or basses with passive pickups may require an external DI box or preamp.

4.2 Mixing Controls

The L6 utilizes a central channel strip and encoders for adjustments:

  • Ebene: Press the "LEVEL" button on the central strip. The 6 encoders at the bottom then control the volume level for each channel. The LED ring around each encoder indicates the level.
  • EQ: A 3-band EQ (HIGH, MID, LOW) is available. Press the corresponding EQ button (e.g., "EQ HIGH") and use the encoders to adjust. For the MID band, an additional button allows you to select the target frequency before adjusting the boost/cut.
  • Schwenken: Press the "PAN" button and use the encoders to adjust the stereo position of each channel.
  • Effects (EFX): Press the "EFX" button to activate effects. Use the "SEL" button to cycle through the 5 available effects (3 reverbs, 1 delay, 1 echo). The knob at the bottom of the effect strip adjusts the overall effect send level. Individual channel effect levels can be adjusted by pressing "EFX" and using the channel encoders. Only one effect can be active at a time.
  • Stumm: Each channel has a "MUTE" button above its encoder for instant muting.
  • Master-Lautstärke: The red "MASTER" knob controls the overall output volume. LED meters provide visual feedback.
  • Kopfhörerlautstärke: The blue "MONITOR" knob controls the headphone output volume.
  • Kompressor: The "COMP" button applies a master compressor to the main output, providing a slight volume boost and dynamic range control. This compressor is not adjustable.
  • AUX Outputs: AUX 1 and AUX 2 (1/4" jacks) can send summed mono signals. Activate "AUX1" or "AUX2" buttons on the central strip, then use channel encoders to send individual channel signals to these outputs.

4.3 Multi-track Recording

The L6 records directly to a microSD card:

  • MicroSD-Karte: A Class 10 V30 microSD card is required. The L6 will format cards over 32GB to exFAT.
  • Aufnahmevorgang: Press the "RECORDER" button to start recording. A new project folder with a time and date stamp will be created, containing individual WAV files for each channel and a stereo master WAV file. Press "RECORDER" again to stop.
  • File Format: All WAV files are recorded at 32-bit float, 48kHz sample Rate.
  • Dry vs. Processed Tracks: Individual channel WAV files are recorded dry (without EQ, panning, or effects). The stereo master WAV file includes all applied processing.
  • Channel Recording: All tracks are recorded simultaneously. There is no option to arm/disarm individual tracks.
  • Mono/Stereo Channels: Channels 1 and 2 record as mono WAV files. Channels 3-6 record as stereo WAV files. To record stereo channels as two separate mono files, press the "MONO" button above the encoder for the respective channel vor Aufnahme.
  • Wiedergabe: The L6 plays back the most recent stereo master WAV file. Adjustments to the mix cannot be made during playback.
  • No Overdubbing: The L6 does not support overdubbing or working within existing project folders for multi-layered recordings. Each recording session creates a new project.

  • Volumen: A gray knob adjusts the playback volume for all sound pads simultaneously.

4.5 Szenen

The A, B, and C scene buttons on the right side allow you to save and recall mix settings:

  • Stored Parameters: Scenes store digitally adjusted information, including channel levels, EQ settings, panning, and effect types.
  • Non-Stored Parameters: Physical knob settings (e.g., headphone volume, master volume) are not stored in scenes.

4.6 Funktionalität der Audioschnittstelle

The L6 can function as a USB audio interface:

  • Konnektivität: Connect the L6 to a computer (PC/Mac) or iOS device via the USB-C port on the face of the unit.
